Agriculture Development
- Organic Agri-business Value
Chain: First to establish substantial value gain for all
stakeholders in organic agriculture i.e. farmers, supply chain
and consumers in India. With the result beginning in year 2000-01,
Morarka Foundation has enrolled over 250,000 farmers in the
country. This is the single largest organic agriculture development
program anywhere in the World.

- Organic Food Marketing: First
organization outside government and private commercial businesses
to establish processes for direct marketing of certified organic
produce by producers to the retail as well as to the consumers.
- Knowledge Management
Services: First organization in India to initiate knowledge
capture, analysis and dissemination processes for organic producers.
An Integrated IT-ICT based platform has been developed as a
tool for knowledge management.
- Regulatory-Quality Certification
Services: The first organization in the World to have established
Internal Quality Control System (IQCS) services for small producers
which comply with Agri-Produce Quality Regulation Standards
prevalent in the World.
- Contract-Collaborative
Farming Management: The first organization to have evolved
a Tripartite Arrangement for contract production in agriculture,
as defined under the Law and is also fair, reasonable and acceptable
to the stakeholders. Over 10,000 farmers and 30 private business
enterprises have signed up on this basis in different parts
of the country.
- Human Resource and
Agripreneurship Development: The first development agency
to establish academic linkages with agricultural educational
institutions to introduce skill enhancement courses for meeting
the requirements of organic agribusinesses in India.

Technology Enabled Services in Agriculture
- Knowledge Management
Services for Extension and Outreach in Agriculture: First
organization in India to develop an IT-ICT based platform utilizing
most modern unified communication tools to deliver highly reliable
and quality knowledge dissemination services to the farmers
even in the remotest rural areas in the country. Presently,
over 100,000 farm units are being covered by these services.
- Database Management
for Internal Quality Control Services: First organization
in the World to develop an integrated IT-ICT based platform
for record maintenance of production activities in agriculture.
This database is in turn is utilized by Quality Regulatory Agencies
for awarding Quality Certificates to the producers as per International
Quality Standards including traceability records. Presently,
over 50,000 farm units have been certified as per USDA and EU
Standards based on this database management platform.
- Online Marketing for Value
Addition in Organic Agribusiness Value Chain: First organization
to have evolved a seamless web based marketing platform for
small producers of organic produce to access high end international
markets. The online system is already going through trial operations.
- Logistics and Supply
Chain Management: First organization to create an online
enabling infrastructure for transparent and reasonable cost
delivery of logistics and supply chain management services in
agriculture to the producers and consumers of organic produce.
- Quality Management in Agriculture: First organization
in India to develop online Quality Management Tools and Services
to enable Indian organic produce to meet International Product
Quality Norms.
- Business Process Outsourcing in Organic Agribusiness Value
Chain: First organization to develop and test a concept
and a methodology for outsourcing services in the nascent/evolving
organic agribusiness value chain. The online platform created
for this purpose has enabled entry of multiple stakeholders
as entrepreneurs in this sector.

Biotechnology Solutions in Agriculture
and Environment
- Vermiculture Technology
Development: Invented "Windrows Method of Vermiculture"
in 1995 by involving farmers and through building on the indigenous
knowledge and resource contribution of farmers across Shekhawati
region of Rajasthan. This method is now utilized for over 90
percent production of vermiculture in the World.

- Know-how Dissemination
of Vermiculture: The lead taken by Morarka Foundation for
know-how dissemination to over 1,000,000 farmers in India and
Abroad, has made this initiative to become the single largest
biotechnology application program in agriculture, anywhere in
the World.

- Production of
Vermiculture: Support and linkages provided to 2,500 entrepreneurs
in last 10 years has created an annual production capacity of
2,000,000 metric tonnes of vermicast, which has now become the
single largest vermiculture production program in the World.
The organization is also the only exporter of earthworms from
India to Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, etc.
- Enrichment of
Vermicast and its Applications Development: Pioneering scientific
breakthroughs have been achieved to increase the nutrient contents
in vermiculture to further reduce the Cost of applications for
per hectare of land, to make it the most economically viable
organic input anywhere in the World.
- Probiotics for Fertility and
Pest Management in Agriculture: The first organization to
identify, isolate and extract primary and secondary plant metabolites
from over 30 agriculture products through simple indigenous
methods for their on-farm applications as fertility and pest
management inputs in agriculture.
- Scientific Waste Management
and Recycling: The first organization to develop technology
for simple biotechnology based applications for safe recycling
of solid wastes and waste water treatment.

Other Programs
- Primary Education: Way back in 1994-95, the organization has made Nawalgarh Block of Jhunjhunu District in Rajasthan to achieve the unique distinction of 100 percent enrolment of children in 6-14 years age groups. This was the first block in entire North India to achieve this distinction.
- Micro-Credit: In year 1994-95 even when Self Help Group (SHG) concepts were being evolved in India, the organization pioneered the development of accounting procedures for maintaining saving and credit records for individual SHG members. In addition, SHGs in particular and micro-credit per se were used by the organization as a tool for socio economic development rather than an end in itself.
- Health and Family Welfare: In 1996-97, for a cluster of 25 villages covering 10,000 families in Nawalgarh Block, all the parameters for millennium development goals for health status were achieved. This was first such successful experiment anywhere in the country.
- Farm Eco Tourism: The first organization in the country to introduce farm ecotourism in Shekhawati from 1995. The Shekhawati Festival organized every year in the second week of February attracts over 50,000 participants in various events organized during this festival.
- Heritage Conservation: The organization has made pioneering efforts in documenting the building heritage of Shekhawati. It has also revived and reintroduced the technology for preservation of frescoes.
- HIV-AIDS Prevention and Control: The organization for the first time evolved HIV-AIDS preventive interventions for out migrants.
